Coot Bay Pond to Joe River Chickee

The next day we were greeted by a thick fog. All our gear was wet as if it had been rained on. Fortunately for me, this was a short day. The North, Roberts and Lane Rivers have very little cover due to a recent hurricane blow down. I must have been behind on hydration from the previous day and felt badly as soon as sun came out.

The Lane Bay Chickee provided the shade I needed to recover. It backs up on a patch of relatively dry land with some taller tree. The views over the bay are great. Just at dusk we met the Outward Bound group we had seen in the distance on the Gulf. They went around the corner of the bay and camped on/in their canoes that night.
