Smithsonian Flower Garden 2010

Photo Gallery

I found a nice series of small gardens just East of the Smithsonian Castle. Several species I had never seen before. The nearly perfect magnolia bloom was on a tree near the entrance to the National Art Gallery. I was very happy to find one at ground level that hadn’t started to fall apart.

Roadside Flowers – Spider Lilies

There is a patch of Spider Lilies along my drive to work. These appear to be Hymenocallis rotata. Note the insect interloper in images 3, 4 and 6.
